Simulation U Analytics focuses on identifying requirements and improving the application of modeling and simulation (M&S); defining M&S development options, alternatives, and concepts of operation; and on conducting rigorous (often M&S-based) analyses. Our specialties are in metrics, analysis, planning, and support – to program offices and senior corporate managers.

Support

All too often Corporate, Division, and Program Managers are not given independent, analytically-based inputs on existing or future capabilities, requirements, or investments. They can benefit from a separate honest-broker and reality-checker before they suffer the consequences of incorrect or misleading statements, projections, or timelines.  This is especially true in software intensive efforts, where ‘looking under the hood’ is not simple and yet finding out what is there is critical. In one case for instance, Simulation U Analytics had to inform a program manager that although a vendor had advertised their product as ‘object oriented’ it actually lacked significant inheritance, encapsulation, or polymorphism; thus explaining why software updates had required significant code rewrites and time delays. Being such an advisor requires a careful balance of technical expertise, management experience, and diplomacy, yet such information can be invaluable to a decision maker. We have that balance and look forward to the challenge of providing timely, insightful, and relevant advice.
