Simulation U Analytics focuses on identifying requirements and improving the application of modeling and simulation (M&S); defining M&S development options, alternatives, and concepts of operation; and on conducting rigorous (often M&S-based) analyses. Our specialties are in metrics, analysis, planning, and support – to program offices and senior corporate managers.

Metrics

Metrics are essential to the success of business processes, technology development, program execution, and software deployment. They provide insights into what is likely to work and what may fail; how things are going; and ways to improve. Put another way, it is impossible to optimize a system that is not well understood – or you “measure what you treasure!” The development of metrics is especially important in modeling and simulation (M&S), where the effect of investment and application are not exclusively monetary, naturally quantitative, or often even intuitively obvious. To build metrics and achieve desired optimization insights, it’s essential to partner with a company that has significant education and experience in this area. We’ve been working in this area since 1990, first on command, control, and communications systems; then on M&S; and more recently on technology deployments and software developments more generally. We combine knowledge gained from research in multi-attribute utility theory with practical experience (successes and failures!) to give our clients what they need to improve their operations, organizations, and products.
